Love and romantic relationships are at the core of being human. Yet being with another person can be difficult. We aren’t always prepared for the conflict and problems that can arise.

Many couples come to therapy with the belief that the problem lies with their partner. They often have a good eye for the faults in their loved one and can have a difficult time seeing their own shortcomings. While this is understandable, it can keep the couple stuck in unproductive patterns and significantly limit their progress. For couples to make headway, each individual will need to see their own contribution and work on changing themselves. After all, what else can a person change other than themselves? Trying to change your partner can be frustrating and fruitless.

In our work with couples, we draw from the research and techniques of some of the most respected clinicians in the field of relational therapy, such as Drs. John & Julie Gottman, Dr. Stan Tatkin, and Dr. Susan Johnson. We blend their expertise with our own experience and personal style to help couples reduce conflict, increase safety, and create intimate connection.

We take a supportive approach that honors both partners without judgement.

We give couples tools to achieve their own goals, creating the kind of relationship they want. We don’t have an agenda or impose our values on the couple, including whether they stay together or separate. We’re not afraid of high conflict couples. In fact, high conflict often points to the level of love and passion partners have toward one another. We enjoy helping these couples redirect that energy into more productive forms of connection.

Whether you are dealing with infidelity, perpetual disagreements, lack of connection, or you’ve just lost those loving feelings, we can help. We work all kinds of relationships. As an LGBTQ+ ally, we love working with all couples, regardless of sexual orientation, identity, or expression. We are simply passionate about relationships, no matter who you love.

If you want to improve your relationship, we would be honored to work with you. If you or someone you know would benefit from any of our services, feel free to contact us.
