My Mission
My mission is to provide comprehensive, high quality mental health services to those in the Phoenix valley who need help healing from relationship stress, past trauma, and addictions.
John Parker
John has over ten years of experience as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He doesn’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. Rather, he pays special attention to your unique situation and tailors a treatment plan that fits your specific needs. He pays particular attention to your past relationship wounds and trauma. Having worked at The Meadows for over five years, John has extensive training and experience in the treatment of trauma and addiction.
As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) who has worked directly with Dr. Patrick Carnes, John is able to work with addicted individuals as well as their partners. He has a sex-positive, non-shaming approach to the treatment of sexual addiction and make it a priority to accurately assess and treat your unique situation within a safe environment.
Working with couples is an area of specific passion for me.
It’s important that each partner feel safe and supported while we collaboratively work toward your own stated goals. I use a mixture of the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) as well as the Gottman Method to help couples work through conflict and achieve the kind of relationship they want.
I enjoy working with people from all different religious traditions and believe that religious faith can be a source of comfort and meaning for many people. I also know that some individuals have had painful and even abusive experiences from their religious community.
I am a safe and experienced resource for those who are deconstructing their religious beliefs and want to find healing.
